Rebecca will come to you in the comfort of your own home and tailor a comprehensive breastfeeding support package (60-90mins).
During the initial consultation we will discuss:
- Breastfeeding history - Rebecca will take a thorough history of your breastfeeding journey so far. You will have the opportunity to openly discuss your challenges. Your story is essential in guiding our approach and tailoring our support to your unique situation.
- Observe a feed - Rebecca will carefully observe a breastfeeding session between you and your baby. This observation allows her to gain valuable insights into the dynamics of your feeding relationship, ensuring a thorough understanding of the challenges you may be facing. During the feed, she will closely examine factors such as latch technique, positioning, and your baby's oral coordination. By observing these key elements, together you will identify any areas that may require adjustment or improvement to optimise the feeding experience for both you and your baby.
- Oral assessment of baby's mouth (with gloved finger).
- Following discussion and observation, you and Rebecca will collaboratively develop a customised plan tailored to address the specific challenges or difficulties you are facing on your breastfeeding journey. This plan will outline practical strategies and targeted interventions designed to overcome obstacles and promote successful breastfeeding.
- Follow-up appointments are offered in-person or via Zoom.
